Micro and Mini ROVs

Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) are widely used in deepwater industries such as offshore hydrocarbon extraction. Like any land or air ROV, these underwater robots can be controlled from a remote location. However, they are linked to a vessel by a tether, a group of cables that carry electrical power, video and data signals back and forth between the operator and the vehicle. Most underwater ROVs are equipped with a video camera and lights as standard, but can also include sonar, magnetometers, manipulators, cutting arms, water samplers and various instruments that can measure water clarity, light penetration and temperature.
